Homesellers Can Plant Seeds of Interest by Boosting Curb Appeal

Warminster, PA) – Traditionally, after a cold and snowy winter, Pennsylvania’s real estate market blossoms in the spring and summer. For sellers looking to list their homes, boosting curb appeal is a great way to attract buyers.

“Making improvements to your home’s curb appeal is one of the easiest and best ways to draw attention from buyers,” said Bucks County Association of Realtors® President Christy Manetta. “As the weather warms up this spring and summer, boosting curb appeal is made even easier.”

Increasing curb appeal doesn’t always require adding more to a home. One simple way to attract more buyers is to clean up existing landscaping, such as mowing the lawn, trimming trees and bushes and weeding flowerbeds and garden areas. Homesellers can also wash their home’s exterior, clean gutters, clear debris from paths and walkways, edge along sidewalks and put away outdoor items such as hoses, toys and tools.

For those who want to go a step further, adding flowers is a great way to boost curb appeal. Whether planted in the yard or potted on the porch, colorful blooms are seasonally appropriate and brighten any home exterior, helping pull in buyers. Fresh mulch, a new coat of exterior paint, a resealed driveway, outdoor lighting, a clean or new mailbox and simple porch décor can have the same effect.

“Boosting curb appeal can be as simple as giving your home’s exterior a good scrub or choosing a colorful potted flower for your front porch,” Manetta said. “It doesn’t have to be extravagant, but these little changes can go a long way in helping your home feel more welcoming from the outside. It’s important to remember that potential buyers’ first impression of your home will be the exterior, so make it look appealing!”

“There are so many ways to increase your home’s curb appeal, ranging in cost and time required,” she concluded. “Ask your Realtor® how you can best boost your curb appeal based on your home’s current state, your budget and your ideal homeselling timeline. Realtors® are trusted real estate experts, and we’re knowledgeable about what sells best in our local markets.”
