At the April 17, 2018 meeting of the Real Estate Commission, pursuant to 49 PA Code §35.384(b), the Commission voted to impose a continuing education requirement for the 2018-2020 renewal period. New licensees who are renewing for the first time are exempt from this one-time requirement and are still required to complete the mandatory courses for new licensees pursuant to 49 PA Code §35.384(b).
- If you were licensed after 12/1/17(new licensee) you are required to take the mandatory required 14 hour CE classes. i.e, General Module, Commercial Module, Residential module each being 7 hours.
- Anyone licensed after 12/1/19 won’t take CE for this cycle.
- If licensed prior to 12/1/17 you must take 1.5 hours in the topic of Property Management, 2 hours on Advertising and 10.5 hours in any elective classes totaling 14 hours of approved PA CE.

I am trying to renew my license and have been asked to provide a code. Where can I find the code?
Licensees received an email from the PA State RE Commission in March 2020 with a code that is needed for license renewal. If a licensee cannot locate the code please email the PA State RE Commission at RAemail@example.com to obtain the code.
I went online to renew my license and this time there was an additional $10 charge that came up for Recovery Fund. I have not seen this before. Is this new and is it required?
The Real Estate Recovery Fund is not new. It was established in 1980. The commission can assess each licensee an additional fee of $10 if, at the beginning of any biennial renewal period, the balance of the fund is less than $300,000.
